Cumberland Island

I took these photos at Cumberland Island, and fortunately the weather was perfect for walking. You have to take a long ferry ride to get to the island, but once you’re there, you enter a world of pristine beauty. The only downside are the many bugs and no place to put down your stuff! The island has wild horses, and we were fortunate enough to come across them. For this first picture, I wanted a moody look, and I played with the colors until they were the way I liked. I wanted her to be walking toward a place with a little mystery in the distance.

Cumberland Island has such a variety of scenery. After the beach, we walked toward the sea marsh. Right before the marsh is a sandy area where trees grow out of a lovely desert. I love the look of these trees and their smooth lines. I chose a coloring for this picture that I felt really fit with the mood of the trees and sand.

And for a cheerful look:

On the way back to the dock, we passed through a meadow-like area with yellow flowers. This picture called for fairy wings. On an aside, I am happy to create a fairy picture for clients. Little girls love these, and they remind me of the magic in my own childhood.
