One of the first things that struck me about this beautiful girl is her joyful spirit. She’s developing her modeling portfolio, and she has such an amazing ease in front of the camera. She has a wide range of expressions, and it was easy to see how much she loves just having fun and being herself for pictures. It was a pleasure working with her! You may remember her sneak peek portrait a couple posts down on the blog, and without further ado, here are some of my personal favorites from her session.

This gorgeous newborn is just six days old here. Her father is a professional baseball player and wasn’t able to attend the session, but his wife knew these pictures would be a wonderful way to both commemorate this precious time and give Dad a special glimpse of his new daughter’s sweetness. Little M joins a loving family with three older siblings to watch out for her.

Look at those sweet, plump baby cheeks.

With multiple children, life is always on the move and full of energy, especially when the kids are little. But there are always the peaceful moments, too, when a mom can just look down and marvel at her beautiful new creation.

And one of all the children together.

Birthday Party | Saint Augustine child photographer

I photographed this family last year for portraits and had a great time with them. The S family invited me back to photograph their son’s fourth birthday party in their back yard. I had checked the forecast and saw there was a good chance of rain, but it turned out to be a windy and sunny day instead, so everyone was able enjoy the outdoors. There was a wonderful variety of activities, and it was easy to see how much fun all the children and families were having. V is a perfect little spider-man and full of happy zest.

The children loved the train, and V practiced his spider-man moves.

Some of my favorites from the party are from when V climbed to the top of his playhouse.

Look at that joyful smile. Love it!

Look closely, and you’ll see that V sneaked a bite of his cake after blowing out the candles… a classic four-year-old moment that I was happy to capture for posterity.

It’s always a pleasure to watch a family change over time. I last saw baby E at her newborn session, and she’s grown into such a cute and happy baby girl who’s sitting on her own and full of smiles. M family, I had a great time with you and look forward to seeing you all again for Miss E’s one-year portraits!

Baby E’s mother chose this blue shirt to bring out the color of E’s eyes, and I can see why. Her eyes really do pop.

This child is already brimming with personality! I loved all the varied expressions she gave us.

Look at those adorable chunky baby legs…

Oh, to find magic in a pine needle.

Their family dog is so sweet. She was even great at E’s newborn session, resting her head on top of E’s.

The Approach of Spring | March Specials

We’ve had a crazy, warm winter, but in celebration of approaching spring (official spring, anyway!), I’m announcing some specials for March.

Newborns

Book a newborn session in March (the session itself can take place in a later month) and receive a complimentary 11×14 print, a $100 value.

Maternity

I have a special opportunity for expectant mothers who would like to do their maternity session in a park or urban setting. Although I love, love, beach maternity sessions–and for good reason, we have some gorgeous beaches here!–I’d like to add more non-beach sessions to my portfolio. Book a Simplicity maternity session in March, and the session fee is waived. You’ll also receive one complimentary 8×10 print. Additional prints and/or collections can be purchased separately. The only caveat is that the maternity session must take place in a park or urban setting. Contact me for more details.

Two weeks new | Jacksonville newborn photographer

Little N is two weeks old here and is a baby surrounded by so much love. As soon as I arrived, N’s big brother was offering to help carry in my supplies and ready to chat; I could see right away how helpful and good-natured he is. Big sister S was full of smiles and happy energy. Having a newborn turns everyone’s world upside down, at least for a little while, but this family seems to know what they’re doing! I had a great time with them.

N slept beautifully for his portraits.

I love quiet moments like these.
