I took my girls out to the beach for a photo session and thought I’d share a few of my favorites. At first, my girls were fighting over their tea party (being an only child myself, it’s always amazing to me how they can go from fighting with each other one minute to being so sweet and affectionate with each other the next!), but then they started enjoying themselves, especially when we put their chairs in the water. Shortly after the ocean picture, they started playing in the water and got completely soaked, so they were even happier!

This warm and easygoing extended family came together for a beach portrait session, some family members all the way from Kentucky. The beach can be lovely at this time of year, and Jacksonville and St. Augustine offer so many good choices. At nine in the morning, it wasn’t too hot yet and was a pleasant day for a photo session with the B family. I loved how as soon as I arrived, the children were energetic and interested in everything around us, the two older boys full of questions and talking about the joys of bugs and bats. After the session, I found out that they’d like to go back again later to explore the park, and I can see why. It’s one of my favorite locations in Jacksonville with its rich variety of spots to choose from and charming rustic feel. B family, enjoy your sneak peek!

New Storyboard Mounting | Jacksonville photographer

I’ve just added a new gallery mounting option for the storyboards I offer. With this option, the storyboard is mounted on wood with beautiful beveled edges. It’s very sturdy and comes ready to hang on a wall or display on a picture easel (the 10×20 size is perfect for an easel).

A client ordered a 16×20 storyboard with this new mounting, and I had to take a couple pictures of it before mailing it off!

Jenny and Ed are getting married at Palm Valley Gardens, which is where we went for their engagement session. They’ve known each other since high school and are adorable together! Palm Valley Gardens has such character, and I love their bathtub, perfect for a parasol. Jenny and Ed, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in November!

This family from Ohio has been vacationing in Florida for years, and they realized it was time for a portrait session in beautiful Saint Augustine. This particular beach, like my favorite in Jacksonville, is pristine and full of natural beauty with the dunes and ocean (no houses to be seen!). Ruth and Roy—the grandparents—have been married for forty-nine years! Everyone was so fun and made my job easy. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Amber & Adam engagement | St. Augustine photographer

Amber and Adam are getting married in St. Augustine in October. I was happy that Amber wore high heels to the engagement session; I love the way heels look in photographs! Amber had worried about me catching her up in the air for the jumping shots, but I got plenty of those. I love her natural grace in jumping, which trust me, isn’t always easy, even for adults. Jumping is harder than it looks, as anyone with small children knows (I have fond memories of my girls as toddlers trying so hard to jump, their little toes not quite making it off the ground).

It’s easy to see how in love Amber and Adam are. I’m excited to photograph their wedding! Amber and Adam, enjoy your sneak peek!

This family was vacationing in St. Augustine and asked me to take pictures on the beach where they were staying. Usually the beaches I go to into St. Augustine and Jacksonville involve long boardwalks, but this time I got to drive right on the sand to our spot. I must say it was nice to be able to pull out my supplies right from my trunk! Little C and W, the grandchildren, were ready for adventure and play, my favorites too. Little I is turning one and is as cute as can be. We met at the park, ready with umbrellas in case it would rain, and although the clouds were dark and we got a few sprinkles, we were spared any real rain. With all the cloud cover, it was such a pleasant temperature for a summer day in Jacksonville. Little I was a gem to photograph, and I must say her mother is talented with a sewing needle. She made the adorable outfit that I is wearing in the tree stump and cake pictures. Babies usually take eating cake VERY seriously (and we all know cake is a serious business!), and so did little I initially. But we soon got her to laugh and show off her cake face. She’s quite a happy little girl. K family, enjoy your sneak peek!
