10 days new | Jacksonville newborn photographer

I photographed this family’s first newborn, and it was a pleasure to see them again and photograph their newest addition, this sweet baby boy. We were able to snag a few outdoor portraits, including this one with the hammock.

I love how curled up and content he is here.

He slept so beautifully on the blankets.

And a smile.

Look at those cute baby cheeks.

Here’s Miss B, who’s now a big sister.

I love the window light here; there’s such a dreamy feel to pure white windows in pictures.

Two weeks new | Jacksonville newborn photographer

Little N is two weeks old here and is a baby surrounded by so much love. As soon as I arrived, N’s big brother was offering to help carry in my supplies and ready to chat; I could see right away how helpful and good-natured he is. Big sister S was full of smiles and happy energy. Having a newborn turns everyone’s world upside down, at least for a little while, but this family seems to know what they’re doing! I had a great time with them.

N slept beautifully for his portraits.

I love quiet moments like these.

Doesn’t Miss S have the best smile?

N is such a caring big brother.

And a little newborn smile for Daddy.

Stormy beach | Jacksonville maternity photographer

For months, Florida had been seared with summer heat, the dry land bursting into forest fires that consumed thousands of acres, and smoke drifting into Jacksonville so thick that the skyscrapers faded ghostlike in the horizon. Finally, the rain arrived, our lawns revived and lush. The water has been much needed, and I love being able to sit with my girls on a rainy afternoon, the rain beating a soothing rhythm on our skylights. Rain for photography, though, is a trickier thing. On one hand, a downpour is likely to ruin that perfect hairdo (not to mention expensive camera equipment), but on the other hand, stormy weather can make a pretty backdrop. The rain stayed away for this couple’s maternity session, but the clouds were especially dense with the promise of rain the next day. This mother-to-be is stunning, and right away, I could see how supportive her husband is and how happy they both are. I can’t wait to meet their baby girl in just a few weeks!

The sky was very grey overall, but a patch of fiery clouds over the dunes was a lovely backdrop.

There’s something so serene and beautiful about beach dunes.

I love how carefree she is here. And doesn’t she look amazing? The last trimester of pregnancy can be difficult, but she carries it off so lightly!

Beach tea party |

Jacksonville photographer

I took my girls out to the beach for a photo session and thought I’d share a few of my favorites. At first, my girls were fighting over their tea party (being an only child myself, it’s always amazing to me how they can go from fighting with each other one minute to being so sweet and affectionate with each other the next!), but then they started enjoying themselves, especially when we put their chairs in the water. Shortly after the ocean picture, they started playing in the water and got completely soaked, so they were even happier!

B family |

Jacksonville family photographer

At nine in the morning, it wasn’t too hot yet and was a pleasant day for a photo session with the B family. I loved how as soon as I arrived, the children were energetic and interested in everything around us, the two older boys full of questions and talking about the joys of bugs and bats. After the session, I found out that they’d like to go back again later to explore the park, and I can see why. It’s one of my favorite locations in Jacksonville with its rich variety of spots to choose from and charming rustic feel. B family, enjoy your sneak peek!
