Boys | Saint Augustine family photographer

I’m still catching up on holiday portraits from last year, and this next session features a family I’ve photographed for four years now. Her boys are so full of life and ready to shine in front of the camera. I look forward to taking their portraits; I always have so much fun.

We went to St. Augustine for these pictures, and I feel so lucky to be near such a lovely, historic city. Not only does it offer so much character with its cobblestone streets, coquina walls, and inviting archways, but it’s also so easy to take the same family multiple times to the historic district and still find plenty of variety for backdrops.

My favorite pictures are often the ones where children are just being their silly selves.

The boys each offer their own take on the statue…

It’s easy to tell how close these brothers are.

The youngest brother reminds me so much of own younger daughter. Not only does he have an amazing smile, but he’s a master of the relaxed, serious expression that works so well in portraits.

And the older brother has a pretty amazing smile, too…

They always know how to make each other laugh.

St. Augustine has such beautiful decorations for the holidays. It’s a great spot to go to for Christmas portraits.

Playful | Saint Augustine family photographer

I had so much fun with this family vacationing in Saint Augustine. Both Jacksonville and Saint Augustine boast wonderful beaches and urban character, and I can understand why families enjoy having a little of both in their sessions. We explored the historic district and beach to take advantage of the best of both worlds. It was a lovely day, and this family was playful and full of personality. I’ve posted more pictures than usual here, but I had so many favorites I wanted to share a little extra this time. Enjoy!

This pink chair is my most requested prop, and Miss S looked stunning in it. For some fun, her brother popped up to surprise her.

Children love to throw sand. I remember the joy of scooping up sand and letting it fly when I was young, and a photograph records that captivating movement.

He had the perfect hat.

The beautiful family.

The family brought these mustaches, and this street was just the right background for them; love it!

Siblings know how to bring pictures to life.

Everyone has a rock star lurking inside…

I always enjoy when a family knows how to make each other laugh.

Graduating | Saint Augustine senior photographer

This young man wanted both urban and beach backgrounds for his senior portraits. We met in downtown St. Augustine and finished at the beach with a beautiful sunset. Congrats, John, on your upcoming graduation!

This is one of my personal favorites from the session.

He has such striking eyes.

Seagulls don’t always stay put for pictures once we get close, so I was happy that these were too content to fly away.

In fact, John had to run right at them before they’d move. 🙂

He has such a great smile.

Anniversary | Saint Augustine photographer

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This session is a perfect tribute to the day: an anniversary portrait session celebrating five years of marriage. This lovely couple is full of warmth, and it was a pleasure to help them record this special moment in their lives together.

The husband loves soccer, and the Saint Augustine fort makes a stunning backdrop for a game.

They were a natural at the “dip,” which isn’t always easy!

I loved how ready they were to have fun and let loose.

Brothers | Saint Augustine children photographer

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and New Year! I’m back on my blog and will try to catch up on postings (more to come). I photographed these boys the year before, and it was a pleasure to see them again for more portraits. We explored around Saint Augustine, looking for scenic nooks.

Early in the session, the children had a chance to play and have fun with the fort as a backdrop.

It’s easy to see these brothers are going to grow up close.

Look at those eyes.
